I have been working on my Patched Publication taking photos of patching trees in the Waterloo Region. I am aiming to have my publication completed by the end of December and hope to have the books distributed to local libraries and available for sales on my website in the new year. I will let everyone know my launch day soon! In the mean time enjoys some photos! For more be sure to check out my instagram @jackiepartridge_ or #patchedproject#patchingtrees
I have recently updated my website to include recent work from my past show Trace and Retrace that took place earlier this month.
Fielding Through is a book composed of drawings of fields on frosted Mylar with ink. The paper is transparent the drawings have a layered look. The book is sewn accordion style so the pages are able to extend as one long strip.
hand embroidery on dyed dishcloths with suspended sewing, 2016.
Paper making is an exciting process for me. I like how the pulp floats on the surface in an organic manner. The first picture is abaca pulp with some sewing embedded in the paper. The second picture is abaca pulp mixed with jeans that have been beaten and the third is me installing the work.
This is a work I exhibited for my end of term critique. The clothing is from my grandfather who is now a retired farmer.
